  3. Serena, great little tale, and with a sting in the end. Watch out for the Harley rally in Ottery on Tuesday 6th August.

Beautifully written, both spare and descriptive. Dripping in both atmosphere and characterization. I can see why you're finding a berth for your literary ship, Serena! Well done!

  6. Loved Serena's tale. It pulled me in right away with strong characters and vivid description. The ending packed a good punch as well.

  7. I loved your Wolf story - it is so in tune with how I think and feel. You are a very gifted writer - are you writing more stories ? I went through an intense period studying Native American culture - I am still passionate about it all. It is so like Druidry - they share the same love of the Earth and all her creatures and plants - and also acknowledge the presence of the wonderful totem animals.

Great stuff - keep it going !

    Bright Blessings

  10. And by email from Denise Rayner: Serena Cairns' short story "Wolf" is unusual. It doesn't contain anything that the name might suggest. There is no gnashing of teeth or dripping blood. Instead, the author has touched the readers imagination and created the atmosphere perfectly, placing you right at the scene, evoking the scenery, smells and emotions exactly as described.

The sign of a good story is when the reader wants to know what happens next - and I do!
